Maria Lazou
/Ma-REE-ah La-ZOO/ Hi! I am an incoming Computer Science Ph.D. student at Northeastern University,
where I will be jointly advised by Dr. Christina Nita-Rotaru
and Dr. Jenny Ren.
Previously, I was a Visiting Research Scholar in Computer Systems at Brown University,
advised by Dr. Nikos Vasilakis.
I recently graduated from the National Technical University of Athens,
where I received my Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering under the supervision of
Dr. Georgios Goumas.
Although I am still exploring my research direction, I am particularly interested in operating systems,
with a focus on performance and security guarantees. More broadly, I enjoy working at the intersection of hardware and software,
including compilers, systems security, and low-level optimization techniques.
Outside of research, you'll most likely find me at the gym, out for a run, or exploring the city.
I also enjoy photography, sketching, and discovering new coffee shops.
